CIA Brazil Carnival Dinner to benefit Miles of Hope!
This Event Is Sold Out!
On June 13, the CIA will turn into ‘Carnival in Rio’ for a dinner-event benefiting the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.
Throughout the night CIA students will be showcasing the lively colors, festive foods, and tropical-themed cocktails of Brazil.
Location: The Culinary Institute of America, 1946 Campus Drive, Hyde Park, NY
Reception: Reception and silent auction begin on Anton Plaza at 6 p.m.
Dinner: Dinner to be held in Farquharson Hall at 7:15 p.m.
Attire: Semi-formal
Charity: Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation
Scholarship: CIA’s Side Towel Scholarship which provides financial aid to students, regardless of academic standing, a resource to continue their education
Price: $95 per person, includes all beverages, taxes, and service charges
Entertainment: Live Latin music by Big Band Sound

Rock & Bowl 4 Breast Cancer Aug. 16
Saturday, August 16, from 3:30-8:00 p.m. all are invited to Rock & Bowl 4 Breast Cancer at the Mardi Bob Lanes on Taft Ave in Poughkeepsie to benefit the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.
The event will have a free buffet for all participants with food provided by River Station, Sal’s Deli in Highland, On A Roll Deli, Highland; McAulley’s, and more!
Four live bands will play all afternoon: Down to the Bricks, The Ceesar Band, Juke Box Junkies, and S.A.T.O.
The competition is open to the public. The tournament will have 4 people teams or 2 people teams – cost to compete is $25/person. Everyone is encouraged to compete whether accomplished bowler or beginner!
Sign up at Mardi Bob or at Let’s Jam Music (Rt. 55 LaGrangeville)- (845) 471-4400. There will be prizes for high individual score and high team score as well as gift certificates from local restaurants and salons, and Hudson Valley Renegade items. All are welcome to come and enjoy the music without bowling for a $10 donation to Miles of Hope. Look for the Adams Fairacre Farms breast cancer tractor parked outside the entrance to the Bowling Lanes!
Larry Helweg, organizer of the event said: “there is breast cancer in my family as well as here at the bowling alley– breast cancer is everywhere — we just wanted to help people affected by it in the Hudson Valley. Donating to Miles of Hope, helps those in treatment and their families and friends.”

Big Band in the Back Room at the Culinary Institute
On Saturday, January 12th, 2013 from 6 to 11 pm, come to the Culinary Institute of America for a night that’ll take you back to a place where depression took over and alcohol was prohibited, but didn’t stop men and women in 1920s from having a blast. This event will be filled with excitement, swing dancing, and a live music from the grand orchestra “The Big Band Sound,” as we swing our way back into the era. This event will be hosted by The Culinary Institute of America’s senior class.
The night will start with a reception in Roth Hall featuring specialty cocktails, beer, wine, passed hors d’Oeurves, and a silent auction. The proceeds will benefit The Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation and The CIA Side Towel Scholarship Fund.
After the reception, guests will then be invited into Farquharson Hall to enjoy a four-course dinner, beverages, and live music. Only 140 seats available, so get your tickets and swing yourself back in time and remember to “speakeasy.”

Bridging the Gap Benefit Concert October 22
Join us at the Walkway Over the Hudson State Park for the “Bridging the Gap” benefit concert on Saturday, October 22 from 12 noon until 5 PM, rain or shine!

Music & Health Concert – The Cygnus Ensemble
On Monday, April 5, 2010 at 7:30 PM, join us for a Music & Health Concert. The Cygnus Ensemble will play for this fundraiser for Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation. The concert, hosted Victoria Bond, will take place at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Peter Norton Symphony Space, Broadway at 95th St. in NYC. There will be a pre-concert panel discussion at 6:30 PM featuring Miles of Hope Executive Director Pari Forood.
