Dance Works Too! raises $1600 for Miles of Hope

Dance Works Too! RecitalDance Works Too! held its 2nd Annual Holiday Benefit Performance and One Stop Shopping Event on Saturday, December 8th from 11-3 at FDR High School in Hyde Park benefiting the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation. The Event raised $1600 for support programs for people affected by breast cancer in the 8 counties of the Hudson Valley.

The announcement of the donation was made by Kelly Markou, Director of Dance Works Too! and pictured in attached photo with Miles of Hope Executive Director Pari Forood (back row – KM in pink shirt; PF in black).

“The kids feel very strongly about helping a local cause,” Ms. Markou explained. “This year when I told them about my mother’s relationship with breast cancer, they all overwhelmingly chose Miles of Hope.”

“It was great fun for me to sit with parents and supporters at this dance recital at FDR high school,” said Ms. Forood. “Kelly spoke about the prevalence of breast cancer in her family and in her ‘dance family’. I was honored that all proceeds from the day came to us. Thank you to all of the dancers and organizers and craft vendors who contributed to this donation. And especially, thank you Kelly for your kind words and support.”
