Update May 19 2015: The Car Meet at James Baird State Park started as an excuse for a few friends to get together to talk cars; and then it grew. By the time the day was over hundreds of cars and car enthusiasts had gathered to look at engines, kick tires, and talk about everything from Nascar to seat covers. Andrew Flynn, who lost his mother to breast cancer, once again decided to make the event a fundraiser for the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.

“We were amazed at the success of the first Car Meet we organized in 2014 at Lake Taghkanic, so we decided to do it again but this time in Dutchess County at JBSP,” he explained.

“Miles of Hope helped a woman in my office who had breast cancer and now we are giving back. The next car meet will be September 19th at Lake Taghkanic.” Check for more information or the Lake Effect Car Meet facebook page.

“Andrew is a great supporter of Miles of Hope,” said Ms. Forood. “We are indebted to him and his friends for organizing this car show and donating over $3,000 from the day to our foundation.”

Miles of Hope funds support services for people affected by breast cancer within the 8 counties of New York’s Hudson Valley.
