The Arlington Varsity field hockey team presents Miles of Hope Executive Director Pari Forood with giant check for $1300

After a fund raising car wash in LaGrange, a bounteous bakesale at the game, and a pink t-shirt sale all week in the halls, the Arlington Varsity field hockey team presented Miles of Hope Executive Director Pari Forood, with a giant check for $1300. The Arlington Admirals field hockey team won Wednesday October 7’s home conference Pink Out game against Mahopac by a score of 1-0.
“We have more money to give Miles of Hope!” added Stephanie Grady, an enthusiastic mother of a player on the team, and one of the parent chaperone’s of the car wash.

“The big check represents proceeds from the car wash and donations from Arlington High School students however we have additional money from the bake sale and t-shirt sale,” explained coach Stephanie Tito.

“These young girls understand the value of preventive medicine, even at their ages. I was thrilled to be able to talk to them briefly on the field about encouraging their mothers and grandmothers- all female relatives over 50- to have an annual mammogram. And I also stressed the importance of a healthy diet to reduce cancer risk – they already know the benefits of exercise!” explained Ms. Forood.
