12th Annual Goals for Hope Women’s Soccer Tournament Sat Aug 1, 2015
The 12th Annual Goals for Hope Women’s Soccer Tournament benefiting the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation is happening Saturday, August 1, from 9-3:00 at the LaGrange Soccer Fields in Dutchess County.
Teams from the tri-state area will compete in four divisions depending on ability. The day long tournament welcomes all spectators and participants. See more details.
The 2015 Goals for Hope Honoree is Karen Shogren of Beacon. This kind, humble, remarkable woman is the youngest of five siblings, a wife to Mark, and mom to Addison, Clark and Miriam. Karen is a soccer player, a soccer coach, a soccer club president, a soccer referee, an East Hudson Youth Soccer League age-group director, and in its ten year history, a Goals for Hope participant and volunteer. In her spare time, Karen also works for Taconic Retreat and Conference Center, and volunteers for her church.
In 2009, Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer. Going through chemotherapy, radiation and multiple surgeries barely slowed this super woman down! Karen continued on with her busy life, further inspiring all of those around her.
