Team St. Francis Hospital and Molloy’s Pharmacy raised $10,000 for the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation in honor of the Community Walk for Breast Cancer at James Baird State Park on 10/6/13. “Money keeps pouring in from the extraordinarily generous employees of these two iconic Hudson Valley organizations,” said Miles of Hope Executive Director, Pari Forood. She continued: “At the Walk, St Francis/Molloy’s Team was the largest team with 74 walkers and they raised the most money as well. We are indebted to all of these committed and motivated fund raisers; they understand how important our mission is and they help us directly by allowing Miles of Hope to support people in treatment for breast cancer right here in the Hudson Valley.”
SFH Human Resources Director Wendy Devens explained that the funds were raised throughout September in preparation for the Walk: “Money was raised through a lottery basket raffle, bake sales, candy sales, condo raffle, walkers & general donations,” she explained. “Every year we get ready for the Miles of Hope Walk and SFH employees get involved by creating various ways to raise money. So many of us have been affected directly by breast cancer that it is natural for SFH and Molloy’s to want to help.”
