The Family Fun 5K Run raised $20,000  for Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation. It was held at Tymor Park in the Town of Union Vale, NY on Saturday April 30, 2011. It was organized by the Mid-Hudson Road Runner’s Club.

The race had nearly 600 participants including 150 children in the kids’ half-mile run. The event was honor of Bernadette Pikul, a resident of Highland who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
