As in previous years, breast cancer survivors will be honored at the game. Survivors are asked to pre-register for the Half Time Salute with Marist Athletics Director Travis Tellitocci. The Dutchess County Duathlon Run-Bike-Run benefiting the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation will take place on September 29, at 8:00 a.m. starting and finishing at Gold’s Gym in Lagrange.
The event consists of a 2 mile run, 10 mile bike and a 2 mile run. Participants can sign up for a relay or compete individually. A complimentary brunch will be held at 10:30 following the race courtesy of Epicure Catering. Registration for the event is $30 for a single and $50 for a relay team.
The Duathlon begins on the Dutchess County Rail Trail with the run. A transition area for the bikes will be set up in the Gold’s Gym parking lot.The bike portion (10 miles) begins at the access road from the parking lot and continues onto Daley Road. The final run of 2 miles is back on the Rail Trail.

The West Hills Country Club Ladies league will hold a golf tournament for the benefit of Miles of Hope, on Tuesday, September 24 at the West Hills Country Club, 121 Golf Links Rd., Middletown, NY [map]. Tee times at 9:00 am. Cost is $25, and $5. to sponsor tees.

The evening will include a reception, raffle, and silent auction full of donations from all over the country, followed four-course meal paired with beverages accompanied by live music. All of the proceeds from the auction and dinner will go to Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation and the CIA Side Towel Scholarship.

“This is a fun event where professional and non-professional bakers compete for the title of Cupcake King or Queen of the Hudson Valley,” explained Pari Forood, ED of Miles of Hope.
“Our Judges are led by Lynne Ryan, Culinary Institute of America graduate and wife of the President of the CIA Tim Ryan.
The other judges are Carlo Citera, owner and operator of Cosimo’s Restaurant Group (Torches, and Cosimo’s of Newburgh and Poughkeepsie) and Gennaro Pecchia & Alan Watts, of Men Who Dine www.menwhodine.com
