St. Stephen – St. Edward School in Warwick, NY participated in Pink Friday in honor of October Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing pink and raising money for the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.

All children were invited to wear pink instead of their customary uniforms to raise awareness of breast cancer and Miles of Hope which funds support services for people affected by breast cancer within the eight counties of the Hudson Valley.

“We are honored that the students and faculty of this school chose to raise money for us,” said Miles of Hope Executive Director, Pari Forood. “All over the Hudson Valley, schools, offices, small businesses and larger ones are raising money for Miles of Hope because they know the money stays local helping their friends, neighbors, and family affected by breast cancer,” she said.

“October as breast cancer awareness month may feel overwhelmingly pink but if it makes people think about having a mammogram or reducing their cancer risk by eating right and exercising, then it is a very good thing.”
