8th Annual Community Friends Craft Show on Oct. 17, 2015

The 8th Annual “Community Friends” Craft Show, in support of Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, 10 am – 4 pm, at the Town of Poughkeepsie Senior Center, 14 Abes Way (off South Gate Drive) [map].

Gorgeous gifts from more than 20 handcraft artisans will be available for purchase, just in time to avoid the holiday rush! There will be a “Think Pink” Resale Bargains Boutique on the gazebo deck. Enjoy author book signings, blood pressure screenings by oncology nurses, and a professional massage therapist. Try your luck in the Giant Pumpkin Weight Contest, drawings for prizes every 15 minutes and the Shoppers’ Grand Prize Drawing!

Refreshments for sale will include Cool Bus Cafe Catering and delicious home-baked desserts.

Admission donations (adults $3, seniors $2) go to benefit Miles of Hope.

Fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse in Kingston NY for Miles of Hope

texas roadhouseThe Texas Roadhouse in Kingston NY will hold a fundraiser on the evening of Thursday, October 1st. That evening, 5% of all sales, as well as donations from patrons, will be given to Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.

International Beer Festival Supports Miles of Hope

On Saturday, October 3, 2015, come to the International Beer Festival at Harbor Island Park, Mamaroneck, NY [map] from 12 PM until 5 PM.

Marist Volleyball Dig Pink Game for Breast Cancer October 11, 2015

pink-ribbon-volleyballThe Dig Pink Match between the Marist Women’s Volleyball Team and Fairfield University will be held on Sunday, October 11 at 1 PM at the McCann Center, 3399 North Road, Poughkeepsie NY. This sport event will be a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness.

Admission is free. Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation will be there with donation buckets. The entire team will be wearing pink shoelaces.

Miles of Hope at the Senior Golden Gathering

sen-sueMiles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation will have a booth at the upcoming Senior Golden Gathering.
On Saturday, October 3, 2015, NYS Senator Sue Serino (pictured) will be hosting a Golden Gathering for the benefit of senior citizens across the 41st Senate District. The event will consist of health screenings, entertainment, refreshments, door prizes and various informational tables geared toward the interests and needs of area senior citizens. From senior safety to nutrition, the event acts as a ‘one-stop shop,’ bringing together invaluable resources for seniors and their families. Thanks to the generosity of the James J. McCann Charitable Trust, the event is free of charge for all who attend. This year’s event will be held at the Arlington High School, 1157 Route 55 in LaGrangeville, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

All area seniors and their families are invited to attend.

Beachbody Fitness Team Donates to Miles of Hope

A local Beachbody team will be donating 20% of profits from the sales of their Challenge Packs to Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.

Beachbody offers fitness, weight loss, and muscle-building home-exercise DVDs. Local coaches form this team in the Hudson Valley.

“We are all women who are supportive of each other every day, so what better organization to give back to but a local breast cancer organization? We decided on the Miles of Hope Foundation,” said team member Amy McKenna.

Miles of Hope funds support services and outreach for people affected by breast cancer within the eight counties of the Hudson Valley, New York: Columbia, Greene, Putnam, Ulster, Dutchess, Orange, Rockland, and Westchester.

“We are looking forward to continuing to help others on their journey to a healthy lifestyle, all while giving back to women in need in our community,” said McKenna. “We hope for you to join us in an effort to support the fight against breast cancer!”
