Senator Serino Announces $20K for Local Breast Cancer Programs

sue serinoNew York State Senator Sue Serino announced a $20,000 grant to the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, a regional charity which funds support services for people affected by breast cancer within the eight counties of the Hudson Valley.
“After 11 years, Miles of Hope has given away over $1.2 million to programs and outreach and education helping all of our neighbors, family and friends affected by breast cancer. I am especially proud to announce that I was able to secure $20,000 for Miles of Hope for their Medical Gap Care program providing financial assistance to people in treatment for breast cancer in Dutchess and Putnam Counties,” said Serino. West Hills Country Club Golf Tournament for Hope, Sept. 29, 2015

west-hillsThe West Hills Country Club Ladies League will hold a golf tournament on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at the West Hills Country Club, 121 Golf Links Rd., Middletown, NY [map]. This tournament will be a fundraiser for the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.

The format is three-person alternate shot; shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.  The costs: $25 tournament fee (we encourage more as all goes toward the donation to Miles of Hope). Lunch is approximately $25, and non-member guests will be charged $18 for a cart fee.

8th Annual Community Friends Craft Show on Oct. 17, 2015

The 8th Annual “Community Friends” Craft Show, in support of Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, 10 am – 4 pm, at the Town of Poughkeepsie Senior Center, 14 Abes Way (off South Gate Drive) [map].

Gorgeous gifts from more than 20 handcraft artisans will be available for purchase, just in time to avoid the holiday rush! There will be a “Think Pink” Resale Bargains Boutique on the gazebo deck. Enjoy author book signings, blood pressure screenings by oncology nurses, and a professional massage therapist. Try your luck in the Giant Pumpkin Weight Contest, drawings for prizes every 15 minutes and the Shoppers’ Grand Prize Drawing!

Refreshments for sale will include Cool Bus Cafe Catering and delicious home-baked desserts.

Admission donations (adults $3, seniors $2) go to benefit Miles of Hope.
