Pink Out January 9th!

pinkoutFriday, January 9th 2015, is Pink-Out Night in the Hudson Valley, where four games will help support the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation. At Arlington High School, the girls JV basketball team will host Carmel at 4:15 pm, followed by the varsity game. AHS will have a bake sale, collect donations, have a 50/50 raffle and sell Miles of Hope merchandise.

At John Jay High School, the Patriots host archrival Ketcham in a girls/boys doubleheader starting with the girls at 5 p.m. JJHS has a concession stand, and they have been selling Pink-Out shirts this week at school.

“Pink the House” Marist Basketball to Honor Breast Cancer Survivors

On Saturday, February 14 2015, the Marist women’s basketball team will take on Niagara in their annual Marist Women’s Basketball/Miles of Hope ”Pink the House” game honoring breast cancer survivors.

Marist College will honor breast cancer survivors at the “Pink the House” game.

Breast cancer survivors will be honored at the game during a special half-time ceremony. Survivors are asked to pre-register for the Half Time Salute with Marist Assistant Athletics Director Andy Alongi. Email Andrew Alongi or call (845) 575-3699 x2329 and let Marist Athletics know how many years you have been a survivor.

Please join us at the McCann Recreation Center, Marist College, Poughkeepsie, NY [map]. Game time is 7:00 pm. Please wear pink! The first 1000 people will get a free t-shirt courtesy of Hudson Cadillac Buick GMC

pink the house logoThe Marist Athletics Department is attempting to sell out McCann Arena for the seventh time in program history when it hosts Pink The House on Saturday, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m. During halftime, the Marist Athletics Department and Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation will honor breast cancer survivors with a special ceremony on the court. Hoops for Hope Women’s Basketball

The 9th Annual Hoops for Hope Women’s Basketball Tournament will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the McCann Recreation Center at Marist College in Poughkeepsie.

Hoops for Hope is the annual 3 on 3 women’s charity basketball tournament that raises funds for Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation. Hoops for Hope allows women of all ages and abilities the opportunity to play basketball in a competitive or less challenging arena depending on their choice of division.

Marist College honoring breast cancer survivors at Friday’s Play 4 Kay game!

At the Marist Women’s Basketball game against Quinnipiac on Friday, Feb. 14, breast cancer survivors gathered to celebrate their years as survivors.

“I am thrilled to celebrate my 18 years as a survivor,” beamed participant and Miles of Hope Co-Founder‎, Dana Effron.

“For the past 7 years Marist has hosted the Play4Kay game honoring Miles of Hope and survivors,” explained Co-Founder Cathy Varunok. “We saluted 25 survivors last night and Marist had an impressive victory against Quinnipiac- it was a great event for everyone!”

Vikings Youth Basketball presents 3’s For The Fight-Bombs Away for Boobies! March 9th

3sForTheFightSaturday, March 9th, 9am-12noon at the Valley Central High School Gym, 1175 Rte 17k, Montgomery, NY.

Sponsored by OCBOA (Orange County Basketball Officials Association).

3’s For the Fight-Bombs Away for Boobies! is a fundraiser  to help raise money for Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.   It is a 3 Point shooting challenge in the tradition of 3 point shooting contests.   5 racks of 5 balls each set around the 3 point line with each rack having a 2 point money ball – 25 shots in total.

It is open to all 9-12 grade boy and girl basketball players in our area. Limited to first 90 players. Who are the best high school shooters in the area?

Interested participants need to fill out the registration form with coach’s and parent’s signatures, mail the registration form to the address listed on the registration form and include the registration fee of $15–check made out to “Bruce Chapin”, on the memo line write “Miles of Hope”– by Wednesday, February 20.
