Our 7th Goals for Hope tournament will be held August 7 in LaGrangeville, NY. This year we will be CELEBRATING SURVIVAL, while also honoring the memory of our dear friend and Goals for Hope committee member, Margaret DeSa.
Attention SURVIVORS: How have you been affected by Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation (including any or all of our events)? A written testimonial is what we are asking for, and if anyone needs help expressing herself, Rihana is willing to assist! All information should be sent to Rihana at rihana@ravdesigninc.com. This written affirmation will be printed in our Goals for Hope booklets to help with this year’s mission to Celebrate Survival!

The Builders Association of the Hudson Valley (BAHV) will hold its first annual Women In Construction Golf Outing on Wednesday, June 9, at the Winding Hills Golf Club in Montgomery, NY. It has been planned as a carefree fun event supporting the BAHV & Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.

Volunteers on the Miles of Hope Annual Spring Brunch Committee filled the gift bags for this year’s brunch, which will take place on Sunday, May 2, at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie. 450 people are expected to attend the annual event chaired by Lisa Arnoff of Arnoff Moving and Storage and sponsored by Healthquest. The 6th Annual Spring Brunch will be held at The Grandview in Poughkeepsie, NY on Sunday, May 2 from 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM. The Silent Auction starts at 11 AM, followed by the brunch.
Last year, more than 400 guests attended, and the Spring Brunch brought in more than $108,105 to Miles of Hope for support services for people affected by breast cancer in the eight counties of the Hudson Valley.

Register for the Family Fun Run, which takes place on Saturday, May 8 at Tymor Park in Lagrangeville.
Sponsored by the Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club, this annual event raises money for Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation. The last day to register online is May 5 – after that time, you may follow the instructions to register.

Lori Decker, who ran in the 2010 Paris Marathon
Lori Decker of Dutchess County ran in the Paris International Marathon on April 11, and finished with a time of 4:12:20. More than 31,000 competitors lined up for the 34th edition of the Paris International Marathon on the Champs-Elysées. All along the route, from La Bastille to the quays of the River Seine via the Bois de Boulogne park, almost 250,000 spectators were present to encourage the competitors and enjoy the 80 live music concerts or shows dotted around the streets of the French capital.
Lori, (in photo at the Miles of Hope Community Walk for breast cancer last October) is a personal trainer at Crush Fitness in LaGrange. She has organized the Miles of Hope Family Fun Run for five years. She co-chairs the event, with Lynne Kopac of Poughkeepsie, and together they welcomed hundreds of runners and raised over $15,000 for the foundation in 2009. This year the event will take place at Tymor Park in LaGrange on May 8.
