Millbrook Foundation Awards Miles of Hope $15,000
The Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation announced today the awarding of a grant for $15,000 from the Millbrook Tribute Garden, Inc. of Millbrook, NY. The donation is to provide support to breast cancer patients and families in the Towns of Washington, Amenia, Stanfordville, and Pine Plains.
“We are indebted to the Millbrook Tribute Garden for this generous grant,” said Pari Forood, Executive Director of Miles of Hope. “It will enable us to reach out to the people affected by breast cancer in the eastern part of Dutchess County.”
Miles of Hope funds support services and outreach for people affected by breast cancer within the eight counties of the Hudson Valley.
“Many residents of the four towns stated in the grant have already been helped by Miles of Hope through our Medical Gap Care program for individuals who are faced with life emergencies and/or costs not covered by health insurance while they are undergoing treatment for breast cancer,” Ms. Forood explained.
“We work with six social service agencies in eight counties to find those who need us and our programs,” Ms. Forood said. “Most of the $1.3 million Miles of Hope has given away in our 11 years has gone to this program.”
